Sioux Ploychrome Parfleche Trunk

Beautiful older Sioux polychrome parfleche trunk. Traditional geometric designs executed in primary colors of brilliant red, blue, yellow and green. Box is embellished with black wool trade cloth corner covers wrapped with leather lacing. Sides and front accented with long red aniline dyed porcupine quilled dangles each terminating with two tin cones stuffed with either dyed horsehair or feathers. Additional strips of leather form a top handle and ties on the front and sides of box. Excellent condition. Length: 16.5". Height: 9.5". Width: 8.5".
