This is a showpiece S. Plains beaded/quilled pipebag. The top portion of the bag has various treatments including a beaded rolled edge, beaded side and front designs, tin cone drops with stuffed horse hair and quilled drops with tin cone stuffed horse hair. Beaded section is different on both sides (call for more pictures) done in cobalt, medium green, red "white hearts" marcasite and butterscotch on a white background. Beadwork is in perfect condition with no loss. Quilled slats are 5" long by 8.5" wide in traditional designs and colors and again, in pristine condition. Supple eleven inch fringe completes the bag. Length: 22" plus fringe. Excellent condition. Circa: 1890's.
